Smart Strategy for Prabhas's Next

It has been a while since young rebel star Prabhas has been seen onscreen and the reason for that is his commitment to the magnum opus Baahubali. But now, the film’s shooting is coming to an end and preparations have begun for Prabhas’s next project.

Prabhas will be very soon relieved from ‘Baahubali’ – The Conclusion and will shift to his next film in the direction of ‘Run Raja Run’ fame Sujeeth Sign.

Earlier Rajamouli used writers from Tamil and Hindi industry for Tamil and Hindi versions of ‘Baahubali’ even before he commenced the shoot. So both the versions clicked big time. The makers of Sujeeth’s film is also doing the same to get authentic output.

As part of that, a smart strategy has been adopted for his next. It is heard that Prabhas’s next would be releasing in Tamil as well as Hindi. So, the producers UV Creations have roped in experienced Hindi and Tamil writers to prepare the dialogues for those versions.

Normally, the dubbing process happens during the post production but this time it would happen right from start to get the best output. Given the fact that Prabhas has earned a Pan India image, this is indeed a wise move as it would cement his position strongly.

This film touted to be an action thriller will cost a whopping Rs.150 Crore for the makers. The movie which is set in Dubai backdrop will be a multi lingual film like Baahubali to cash in on Prabhas’ popularity across the country. The yet to be titled film will have two heroines who are to be finalized.

Rumours are rife that Prabhas will be playing a Police officer in the film and it will be his first time in Khaki. UV Creations will be producing the film. They started their filmy journey with Prabhas’ Mirchi which happened to the biggest hit of the actor’s career back then.

7 Interesting facts about ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas

Prabhas may be a very popular actor in Tollywood and now India thanks to ‘Baahubali,’ but he has always had a loyal fan base, who call him ‘Darling Prabhas,’ Prabhas has completed 14 years in the Telugu film industry. It was in November,2002, 14 years ago when Prabhas’ first movie, ‘Eeshwar’ came out. He has definitely come a long way since then and to honour him on achieving this milestone, here are a few interesting facts about the actor that will delight you…

Spent three years for Baahubali:

Before ‘Baahubali,’ the last film that the Tollywood hunk worked on was ‘Mirchi,’ way back in 2013! Since then, the actor has dedicated all his time and energy to SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus. Considering the physical training, combat training, and stunt coordination and shooting for both the parts, it took around three years for Prabhas to finish his commitment to the franchise. Till then, he did not sign a single film and focused singularly on this project.

Trained by Mr World for Baahubali:

For ‘Baahubali’ Prabhas had to bulk up seriously. He underwent a massive transformation as he went from 82 kilos to a whopping 102 kilos in a matter of few months. To achieve this, he was trained by none other than Mr World 2010, Laxman Reddy. Not just that, the makers of the film gave him gym equipment worth Rs 1.5 crores, which he installed in his house and trained there itself.

Didn’t attain success till his third film:

There have been many one-hit wonders in Tollywood but stars often struggle initially till they achieve success at some point. Same has been the case with Prabhas. He began his career with ‘Eeshwar’ which didn’t do as well as he would have wanted it to. Neither did his next one ‘Raghavendra.’ It was ‘Varsham,’ that released in 2004, that actually made Prabhas a popular actor and a rising star. Although, after he achieved stardom, his fans also started relishing his older work.

Bollywood debut before ‘Baahubali:

Everyone in the country knows Prabhas from ‘Baahubali: The Beginning.’ However, they forget his Bollywood debut, which happened in 2014 itself. He actually had a guest appearance in Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer, ‘Action Jackson.’ Prabhas appeared briefly in the song, ‘Punjabi Mast’ as he shook a leg with Sonakshi. So technically, this makes ‘Baahubali’ his second Bollywood movie.

Big fan of Rajkumar Hirani and Robert De Niro:

Prabhas is a self-confessed fan of director Rajkumar Hirani and revealed that he has watched ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and ‘3 Idiots’ almost twenty times! When it comes to Hollywood, the ‘Baahubali’ hunk is a big fan of Robert De Niro and when it comes to Telugu cinema, his favourite movie is ‘Bhakta Kannappa’ starring his uncle, Krishnam Raju. It looks like he has got his inspiration right.

Well educated:

Coming from a family with a cinema background, Prabhas could have easily just jumped into the spotlight. But he decided to focus on his education first. All engineers around the country will now be proud to know that Prabhas is also a B.E. degree holder and an engineer just like them. He did his engineering from Sri Chaitanya College in Hyderabad. So this handsome actor is not all looks but is also pretty intelligent.

Devoted to family:

Even after being such a star, Prabhas is very grounded. In fact, he is very close to his family and especially to his mother. Not a day goes by without him spending some quality time with her. It is truly incredible to see someone do that in a day and age when the concept of family is fast becoming obsolete.

Dangal fails to match Baahubali Records

Aamir Khan's much-awaited Hindi movie Dangal has opened to good response at the box office, but the film has failed to beat the collection records of Baahubali: The Beginning.

The film, which released on Friday (23 Dec), opened to favourable reviews from the audiences. Based on the real-life story of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his struggle to train his daughters Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat to make them world-class wrestlers, Dangal has been performing brilliantly at the box office. The film however failed to match the Day 1 to Day 3 collection record set by Baahubali.

Dangal made a total three day collection of about 106.95 crores (Incl. Tamil & Telugu versions) - Fri 29.78 cr, Sat 34.82 cr, Sun 42.35 cr. Compare this to Baahubali's First day collection of 50.1 crore worldwide gross and 37.1 crores in Indian biz.

Though the US collections were also supposed to break the first day records set by Baahubali ($1,010,550) and PK ($ 1 million), the movie made a first day collection of just $282,280. While the total three day collection of Dangal is about 106.95 crores, it should also be noted that Baahubali made about 110 crores in just two days and became the fastest movie to reach the 100 crore mark.

Seems like Baahubali records can be broken only by Baahubali himself!

Now A Book on Baahubali’s life & journey

Even as we await the sequel to 2015’s mega blockbuster Baahubali, Mumbai-based author Anand Neelakantan of Asura fame, has brought more cheer for fans of the historical drama. The writer said that he’s working on a trilogy, also titled Baahubali, which will throw light on the back-story of the epic saga. Fans of the warrior Baahubali who are keen to know about the braveheart's journey since childhood will soon get a peek into Baahubali's life and journey as a child.

Inspired by the success of 'Baahubali: The Beginning', S S Rajamouli, the director of the movie, has approached writer Anand Neelakantan to write a prequel to the movie. To be written in three parts, the first part of the prequel will be launched before the release of the second edition of 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' in April 2017.

" It’s a prequel,” he explains, adding, “The series takes off from where the last book ends.” Neelakantan says that the trilogy was actually the brain-child of director SS Rajamouli, and will deal with Katappa and Sivagami’s childhood. Nothing in the film will be repeated in the book. People will find it boring then," said Anand.

The author of the bestseller novel 'Asura: Tale of the Vanquished', said that the book series would feature the history of the kingdom Mahishmati, childhood of Baahubali and history of other characters in the film.It will be written in five languages: English, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. "But it is first going to be released in English," said Anand.

The date of the book launch will be announced at the Jaipur Literature Fest to be held in January.

Baahubali 2 and Half Dozen (Hindi) Films

2017 is almost here and we have to say goodbye to the films of 2016 now. But with films like ‘Raees’ and ‘Baahubali 2’ lined up, we can assure you that there is an action packed upcoming new year.

While the demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination notes slowed down the business at the box office, it is expected that the upcoming year will be better for the film world.

The upcoming Bollywood movies include ‘Raees’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, ‘Kaabil’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam, Salman Khan starrer ‘Tubelight’, and Salman’s blockbuster success Ek Tha Tiger’s sequel ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, and ‘Secret Superstar’ which will have an Aamir Khan cameo and Shankar’s 2.0.

However, the film that is speculated to have the best run in 2017 will be a sequel to the super hit Telugu movie ‘Baahubali’ featuring Rana Daggubati, ‘Baahubali 2’. The prequel had left its viewers with several questions which they hope to have answered in the upcoming year on April 28th.

There is no wonder if Baahubali beats all the above mentioned most anticipated films in 2017.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to wrap up by December 27?

It’s safe to assume Baahubali: The Conclusion is one of the most awaited films of 2017! After a stellar first part, fans can’t wait to catch the second installment.

The Baahubali team has been shooting for a long time now, it didn’t seem like it would ever end, but now we have good news. As per reports on leading portals, the team is expected to wrap up talkie portions by 27th December. Post which, the team will move into post-production mode to be ready for April. 2017 release.

Wow! Only few more days for the wrap of Baahubali 2! Sadly, the Baahubali journey for the cast, director and the technicians comes to an end. We bet it will be an emotional moment for everybody involved in the film, because when you give away so much of your time for a magnum Opus like this one it’s more than a film, it’s an experience of a lifetime. Of course, for us fans this wrap up only means, we are now nearing the release. Once an official annoucement is made, we are sure the countdown for the most awaited sequel will begin!

Baahubali; The Conclusion will finally answer the most asked question – why did Katappa kill Baahubali. The story will finally be complete, or for all you know it will end with another story to look forward to. Apart from answers to questions, the film will be grand in terms of visuals, architecture, war scenes.

Here’s what Rana Daggubati revealed about Baahubali 2, – “One is the visual spectacle in terms of palaces and architecture and the scale with it is shot at. And not to forget the mighty big war that comes right at the end – we just finished shooting, we shot for 4 months. That just blew our minds off. Even for somebody like us who know what it is like to shoot a war, when we look at this – It’s very different from what part 1 was. So when you get up from part 2, you get up with a different feeling, a much more satisfying feeling because A) your story is completed, no hooks will keep you waiting, B) you will see things that are very new, there is some new cast in the film, like you will see a younger Anushka. So there will be many things you can look forward to in that sense”

The first look was unveiled on October 22, in the presence of the cast and crew – Prabhas, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, SS Rajamouli, Producer Shobu. It showed Prabhas in both his forms – Mahendra Baahubali And Amrendra Baahubali.

2017's most awaited Hindi Film

BAHUBALI: THE CONCLUSION IS 2017’S MOST AWAITED HINDI FILM

In a survey conducted by Ormax Media over the month of November 2016, regular Bollywood theatre-goers were asked to pick their most-awaited film of 2017 from a list provided to them.

A staggering 51% picked Bahubali’s second instalment. It is important to note that this research was conducted among Hindi film goers, and does not include those who watch films only in Telugu or other regional languages.

The findings are a resounding verdict in favour of Bahubali The Conclusion, affirming that the film has received mainstream status in the Hindi market, and not seen as a dubbed film anymore.

2.0’s first look released towards the end of this research, and it has quickly entered the Top 5 list in that short period. After Hollywood, is it South cinema’s turn to give Bollywood a hard run for its money?
