Which will be Prabhas's next Movie?

Actor Prabhas who is busy with the shooting of Vaaradhi is also simultaneously looking at finishing his film Rebel which has been in shooting since ages. But with the recent developments like the music director of the film S.S.Thaman walking out and dates of heroine Tamannah being wasted, it looks like the film may find it hard to get done with soon enough. So the actor is looking at signing another project post Vaaradhi. And it is this project which has got the trade and fans excited as the music director for this film has already been confirmed as S.S.Thaman. The young music director shared his fans the information that this project will be a real big one. Soon many rumors started surfacing and most prominent among the rumored one's are a project with director Shankar where he will be paired opposite Katrina Kaif and another is the Agneepath remake.

An official announcement regarding the project is expected to be made soon. Prabhas will join the shoot of his film with director S.S.Rajamouli after the completion of this film.

Prabhas a Software Engineer in Vaaradhi?

Prabhas was on a Top Notch with back to back hit films. He was doing two films simultaneously one with Lawrence as ' Rebel ' and the other with Koratla Shiva entitled to be as ' Vaaradhi '. There were some reports earlier that Prabhas is playing the role of a police officer in this movie. It is now said that Prabhas is playing a Software Engineer role in Varadhi and recently some scenes were canned at Madhapur in a Software company (may be that's the reason for this assumption). Anushka and Richa Gangopadyaya were doing the female leads in this film and this is being produced under the banner of U.V.Creations

Shooting Spot - Oke Oka Mata Song (Chakram)

Firstly thanks to Prabhas fans from Romania for letting me know about Chakram movie having been shot at Romania.

Coming to the song 'Oke Oka Mata', this song has been shot at Poiana in Bucharest, Romania. While Brasov is located about 166 kms north of Bucharest, Poiana is located about 5kms southwest of Brasov. Poiana is the most popular romanian sky resort and an important tourist centre. It is located at about 1,312 yards (1,200 m) above sea level.

The above scenes have been picturised at the St.John the Baptist Church at Poiana, Brasov. I find this church also referred to as Summer church, wood church etc. Moreover this is the only clearly identifiable location from the song.

Lawrence all set to spoil 'Rebel'

Anushka walked out of Rebel few months ago causing further delay to Rebel which seems to be heading nowhere. Now when the supposedly last schedule is about to start from 15th February, Music Director Thaman has walked out of Rebel.

Thaman has tweeted, “My best wishes to music director Raghava Lawrence Gaaru for REBEL I wish the entire team good luck And I thank Lawrence master for giving me KANCHANA which was a very big hit in both the languages:) but I am officially out of REBEL.”

Its not that we are worried about Thaman leaving the project as he was never a favourite among Prabhas fans, but this development gives further negative talk on the project for which no one else than Raghava Lawrence is to be blamed. He should have been left to direct mediocre films with B grade actors. He has spoiled almost 10 months of Prabhas's time and has irritated us, Prabhas fans with the inordinate delay of Rebel. Not a single official still or the still elusive 'First Look' of Rebel have seen the light of the day. Another awful rumour going around is that Raghava Lawrence himself may compose music for this film!

Prabhas being the gentleman that he is will not speak anything bad about his movie or RL. By accepting Anushka, who is one of the reasons for Rebel's delay as heroine for his new movie with Koratala Siva, it only obvious that Prabhas is not blaming Anushka for her walking out of Rebel. While Prabhas may be silent, we his fans need not be. This post is just an outburst of my anger and displeasure of the way Lawrence had handled this movie right from the start.

Prabhas film in combo of Director Shankar and A.R.Rehman

This is the news article that appeared in today's Times of India.(2/2/2012). It says that Kamal is doing a film for producer Aascar Ravichandran after his current movie Viswaroopam completes shoot. Ace Director Shankar is going to direct this film which is to made simulataneously in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The big news is that Prabhas is going to do the Telugu Version. Music is probably by A.R.Rehman. It's really a great news for all Prabhas Fans and let's sincerely hope that the news comes true.

"If the tri-lingual that Shankar is planning with Prabhas as hero in the Telugu version falls in place, Prabhas might serenade none other than Katrina Kaif.

Though not very widely publicised in AP, director Shankar has plans to make a Telugu-Tamil-Malayalam tri-lingual with Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal, respectively. The music for the film is by AR Rehman, and Katrina Kaif is the heroine in all the three versions.

The film will be produced by Aascar Ravichandran. The as-yet-untitled one in Telugu will see Jackie Chan in a pivotal role as well! In Tamil, the film is touted to be titled 'Thalaivan Irukkindran'.

It will be the biggest film in the career of 'Rebel' Prabhas. Above all, how many of them get the opportunity work with Shankar?"

Remember the brief flashback scene in Chakram, where Prabhas and Asin are shown as doctors working abroad? These scenes have been shot at Bucharest, the Capital city of Romania. Take a look at these screenshots.

The huge building in the first screenshot is the Palace of the Parliament (Romanian: Palatul Parlamentului) in Bucharest, Romania. The Palace of the Parliament is the second largest building in the world, after the Pentagon. The place is so massive, that it can be seen from the moon.Bucharest residents still refer to it as Casa Poporului, the House of the People. Today it houses both chambers of the Romanian Parliament.

It was built by communist dictator Ceausescu . The construction began in 1983 and constructing the Palace and Centrul Civic required demolishing much of Bucharest's historic district, including 19 Orthodox Christian churches, six Jewish synagogues, three Protestant churches (plus eight relocated churches), and 30,000 residences. (More about this building can be found in the references given at the end.)

The building in the second screenshot is the 'Piaţa Constituţiei' (Romanian for "Constitution Square"), also known as Palace Square, is one of the largest squares in the downtown of Bucharest, Romania. The square is standing face-to-face with the Palace of the Parliament.

Rebel last schedule from Feb 15th

Finally some good news about Rebel movie. The movie is taking a brisk shape under the direction of choreographer turned director Raghava Lawrence, who also delivered hits in the form of ‘Mass’, ‘Don’ and ‘Kanchana’. The last schedule of this action entertainer will start on February 15th and continue till the entire shooting part will be wrapped up. Producers J Bhagawan and J Pulla Rao are producing ‘Rebel’ under Sri Balaji Cine Media banner. The film is planned for May end release as summer special movie. This film features Tamanna and Deeksha Seth as leading ladies opposite Prabhas. According to producers this is the highest budget film in Prabhas’s career. The film’s story is as powerful as its title ‘Rebel’. Director Lawrence opined that ‘Rebel’ is the tailor-made film for Prabhas’s image and personality. He said that Prabhas’s performance is extraordinary and the producers’ making is superb.

Musical scores are being rendered by SS Thaman, camera is handled by C Ram Prasad, dialogues are written by ‘Darling’ fame Swamy, art by A S Prakash, fights are composed by Ram-Lakshman and editing is being done by Marthand K Venkatesh.

The Title is not Vaaradhi?

Young Rebel Star Prabhas's forthcoming film directed by Koratala Siva it seems is not titled Varadhi. Right from the launch of the film there is speculation on the web that the film is titled 'Vaaradhi' and now putting an end to the speculation a close source from the unit has informed that the makers of the film will announce the title soon. (unconfirmed again!). Will the producers opt for a English title as both 'Darling' and 'Mr.Perfect' which were box office hits had English Titles.

Pramod Uppalapati and Vamsi Krishna Reddy are jointly producing the film on UV Creations banner. Recently, the shooting 'Varadhi' is completed and currently the post production works are on. For the first time, Richa Gangopadhyay plays heroine opposite Prabhas in this action entertainer. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music.

Shooting Spot - Saregamapadanisa Song (Raghavendra)

The Song Saragamapadanisa from Raghavendra (2003) has been shot in Munich, Germany. The song has been picturised in three major spots in Munich - The Hofgarten (Court garden), The Munich Olympic Stadium and the Nymphenburg Castle.

The opening scenes of the song have been shot at the Hofgarten (Court Garden), a garden in the center of Munich, Germany, located between the Residenz and the English Garden. The Green domed Gazebo in the center of the garden is a pavilion for the goddess Diana, built in 1615 by Heinrich Schön called the DianaTempel. The second screenshot shows the interior of the Dianatempel.

The tall domed building seen in the background in the first two screenshots is the Theatinerkirche Church. The building in the last screenshot is the Bavarian State Chancellary building (Bayrischstaatskanzlei) at Hofgarten.

Richa is one busy actress who is shuttling across Telugu, Tamil and Bengali industries now. After making her debut in Tamil last year with 'Mayakkam Enna', the actress has recently stepped into Bengal film industry to pair alongside Prosenjit Chatterjee for her maiden Bengali venture.

Now the 'Leader' girl is back to the place where her career started, Telugu film industry. The actress is now participating for the second schedule of her film with Rebel Star Prabhas, 'Vaaradhi'. The shoot of the film is presently going on in Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City. The film which also sees Anushka Shetty is being directed by dialogue writer turned director Koratala Shiva.

Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music for the film which is produced by Pramod and Vamsi Reddy on UV Productions banner. Post this film, Richa will be seen opposite Venkatesh for an untitled film which will begin this January.

Vaaradhi Movie Update

The shooting of 2nd schedule of Vaaradhi commenced in Ramoji film city from today onwards. At present, Prabhas is working for Lawrence's Rebel on the other hand too. It was earlier reported in this blog that Vaaradhi will be shot in Maryada Ramanna house set from January 16. Major cast of Vaaradhi will be shot in this new schedule set. The famous Maryada Ramanna movie house set was done by art Director R.Ravinder, who incidentally was also the art director for Prabhas's blockbuster movie Chatrapathi.

The first schedule of shoot has commenced on December 1 in Hyderabad and scenes on Prabhas and Richa Gangopadhyay were canned in Andhra Pradesh Police Academy in Hyderabad.

Rebel may sell for a bomb

Going by the trends in the industry, Prabhas' Rebel may go for a bomb. It is because not one, but two names are associated with it. Larencce is in good form, so also Prabhas, whose last film was a decent hit.

They say nothing succeeds like success. With a hero like Prabhas, who has two back-to-back hits (Darling and Mr. Perfect) and a director like Larencec Raghava (with Muni and Kanchana in his kitty), Rebel has come to be the cynosure of the buyers' eyes.

The film may go for a big amount, say trade pundits.

Meanwhile, there is scepticism also. The director's last two straight Telugu films, namely Style and Don, did not give profits to its makers. As the result, the director has so far had to rest on the laurels he has earned with Mass.

In any case, Larencce's Kanchana fetched the producer of the Telugu version, Bellamkonda Suresh, four times more than what he invested. This statistic makes Rebel the buyers' envy.

Krishnam Raju is seen in the film as Prabhas' father. They were last seen together in Billa. If the film strikes gold, the director-actor duo will have a shot in the arm.

Young Rebel Star Prabhas starrer Vaaradhi will be shot in Maryada Ramanna house set from January 16. Major cast of Vaaradhi will be shot in this new schedule set. The famous Maryada Ramanna movie house set was done by art Director R.Ravinder, who incidentally was also the art director for Prabhas's blockbuster movie Chatrapathi.

Art Director Ravinder was associated with SS Rajamouli for a long time and he has done excellent work for the blockbuster hit 'Magadheera', Chatrapathi and the recent release Maryada Ramanna got a patent for the first time in the Tollywood`s history. The good art work of erection of house set for Maryada Ramanna was much appreciated which has generated a patent for him. He built the house set using advanced technology in the most cheapest way.

Prabhas will be romancing hot and beautiful actresses Anushka and Richa Gangopadhyay in the film. Vaaradhi is being directed by writer turned director Koratala Shiva and Pramod Uppalapati and Vamsi Krishna Reddy are the producers of the film. The movie is being made under UV Creations banner. Vaaradhi is a family entertainer and Prabhas is said to be essaying a distinct and powerful role. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music for the movie.

MARYADA RAMANNA HOUSE SET

Chatrapathi completed 100 Days today in 2006.

Chatrapathi is now being remade in Kannada. The movie it seems is ready for release. Kannada actor Sumanth plays the role of Prabhas and the movie is directed by Dinesh Gandhi who has roped in Bollywood Actor Arbaaz Khan for the movie.

In this film he will essay the role of a baddie. Confirming the news, Arbaaz stated that he has watched the original Telugu version of the film and found it really interesting and hence he decided to be a part of this project.

With respect to essaying a negative role in his Sandalwood debut he stated it really does not matter to him as far as his character is appreciated by the audiences.

Make no comparisons with Prabhas or Rajamouli's making of the movie. It will always remain a unbeatable combination.

Rebel First Look for Sankranti

Finally some good news about Rebel movie. The producers plan to release the movie's First Look for Sankranthi (14th January 2012). The first look of the movie was earlier stated to be released on 23/10/2011, on Prabhas's birthday which did not happen. Let's hope the producers keep their word atleast now.

Rebel shooting is now going on in Bangkokand will get wrapped up by 12th of January and then prabhas will join Vaaradhi second schedule for 20 days. Final schedule of Rebel will be starting from first week of February and will go on till end of February. Audio launch will supposedly be in end of February and movie may be released in March (read it as April).

Prabhas 'Rebel' Movie is presently being shot in Bangkok. This schedule is expected to go upto January 12th. The producers have planned to release the movie on Ugadhi (On 23rd March). Prabhas expected to continue to shoot for Vaaradhi from January 16th. Let's hope the movie comes in time to cheer us for Ugadhi.

Here is Raghava Lawrence throwing some light on the character of Prabhas in his film. Rebel, which is currently being shot in Hyderabad, has the hero's character moulded in such a way that it impresses upon the mass audience from the word go. The director said that the character is very much a non-conformist.

"He goes against the tide. The hero believes that only struggle can yield results. What is his aim? How does he make his destination possible? We have written Prabhas' characterization in such a way that it would be liked by the mass audience."

Not that only the hero occupies the center stage and the role of the heroines (Tamanna and Deeksha Seth) is marginal. The girls too have immense scope for performance because they are an integral part of the story. The film has much hype around it for the reason that Lawrence's films have always been known for coming with thematic variety (read Mass, Style, Muni, Kanchana).

Produced by J Bhagawan and J Pulla Rao, the film has music by SS Thaman. Cinematography is by C Ram Prasad. 'Darling' Swamy is the dialogue writer. Editing is by Marthand K Venkatesh.

Young Rebel Star Prabhas’s mass action thriller ‘Rebel’ is racing ahead with its production. The movie is being directed by Lawrence and currently, the movie is being shot in and around Hyderabad.Tamanna and Deeksha Seth are the heroines in this project.
Prabhas will be seen in a full length mass action role in this movie. Director Lawrence says that the movie is being shot in such a way that the audience will be completely entertained. ‘Rebel’ is being produced by J.Bhagwan and J.Pulla Rao. Thaman is scoring the music for this movie.
Lawrence says that Prabhas will be seen as a guy who does not care about the challenges he faces. “Our hero is a guy who fights against all odds. He challenges conventional wisdom”, says Lawrence. The movie will hit the screens in 2012.

A Chatrapathi Story for Ajay

Many of you might be knowing how crazy i am about Chatrapathi. I always feel thrilled watching Prabhas in this movie. I sometimes go overboard with my likeness for this movie. This is one such incident that happened about a couple of weeks ago. I was in a dilemma as to whether i should post it or not, but then i thought may be a few of you might enjoy reading it.

I usually make my son Ajay (he's completing 9 yrs in a couple of months) go to sleep and on this day he was pestering me to tell a story. I was tired and in no mood to tell him a story but since he was troubling me i started to tell him a story.

"Once there two brothers named Ashok and Siva (probably you got it already!). The younger brother always disliked his elder brother. He told bad things about his brother and made him get beatings from his mother. One day there was a big fire in their village..."

At this point he found out that this was Chatrapathi story. I don't want Chatrapathi story, you tell me another story he started pestering me again. In a flash this story came in my mind and i started telling him another one. It might be a bit silly and illogical too, but it's a kids story and i really didn't mind taking liberties in my story. I even managed to evoke a few laughs from Ajay. There's an unexpected twist in the end, so please read the story fully. My wife was beside us with my daughter and she too was listening to my story. If at the end of the story, you too say that i am crazy, i will take it with a smile! Here it goes.

"Once there was a King who was a total coward. He feared everything from a cockroach to a Cheetah. He was afraid of the crowd and afraid to be alone. Everyone in the country laughed about their King. The king had a wise minister who was very much worried about the king. He wanted to change the king and make him a brave man."

"One day while the King was taking a walk in the nearby woods the minister let out a big Lion in the way of the King. The King shivered on seeing the Lion. Frightened, he climbed up a tall tree and sat high up on the tree. On seeing this the Lion laughed at the King and said," I haven't seen a cowardly king like you. Shame on you", and then the Lion walked away after teasing the King.

"The next day while the King was taking a walk the minister let out three ferocious dogs. On seeing the dogs the King ran helter skelter and then he fell into a pit of stinking slush (Ajay laughs loudly). The dogs laughed at the king and said to themselves "let's not get ourselves dirty getting into that pit." saying so they too moved away.

The minister was very worried that none his ideas worked out. He then hit upon an idea which he was sure will definitely work out (here comes the twist!). So the next day he took the King to the palace theatre and made him watch 'Chatrapathi' Movie! The King was very impressed and inspired watching the movie. He too wanted to become a brave man like Prabhas. He understood what is courage and compassion... and needless to say he became a brave king!

There was a brief gasp of unbelief in the room when i told the climax. Neither of them expected that i will bring Chatrapathi into this story. Well its another story that Ajay didn't ask me another story for quite sometime and when he asked me to tell him a story a few days back, i told him a moral story!

Young Rebel Star Prabhas starrer Vaaradhi has commenced the regular shoot of the film. Popular script writer Koratala Shiva is debuting as a director with this film. The first schedule of shoot has commenced on December 1 in Hyderabad and scenes on Prabhas and Richa Gangopadhyay are being canned in Andhra Pradesh Police Academy in Hyderabad.

Is 'Rebel' getting delayed?

Seems like we have to wait for as long as we waited for Mr.Perfect to hit the screens. This news from Andhraboxoffice wasn't a total shocker, considering that the producers haven't kept their promise of releasing Rebel's new look on October 23rd as promised and no offcial news on the movie's progress coming in. Well, here's the news from Andhraboxoffice.

Prabhas’s Rebel, whose final 70day long schedule was to start on November 5 hasn’t gone to floors even after November 15. The Project is in a total mess after differences erupted between the Producers, Director & Hero after replacing Anushka with Tamanna. The film, sources say will not have any schedules this year unless some one come forward to takeover the project.

The producers are already in discussions with Bellamkonda Suresh for a takeover proposal but he is too busy with Bodyguard and is going to wait and watch till Sankranthi gets over. On the other side Prabhas and Tamanna are procceding with their other commitments. Prabhas will start shooting for ‘Vaaradhi’ from December.

It looks like Rebel is going to delayed by 2-3 months and will not release even for Summer 2012!.

While there were rumours about Richa Gangopadhyay playing heroine in the Prabhas-Rajamouli movie, it now seems that Richa is confirmed to play main female lead opposite Prabhas in his upcoming film in the Direction of Koratala Siva. Richa is now doing two tamil films with Simbhu (Osthi - Tamil remake of Dabanng) & Dhanush (Mayakkam Enna). She also is said to have bagged the heroine role in a hindi film to be directed by Tamil Director Susi Ganesan (of Kandasamy/Mallanna fame). Seems like it's raining offers for Richa.

The last schedule of 'Rebel' of Young Rebel Star Prabhas, who's leading forward with consequtive hits is starting from the 5th of November. Raghava Lawrence who has established himself as a dance master and also as a director is directing this movie. Looks like we are in for a double treat on October 23rd. It's not just Prabhas's Birthday but the first look of 'Rebel' movie is also going to be revealed on this day!

Young Rebel star Prabhas’s upcoming film 'Rebel' which is being directed by Raghava Lawrence is gearing up for release in December. The film’s first look is not shown officially till date and the makers are planning to reveal the first look and launch the publicity campaign on October 23, on the occasion of Prabhas birth day.

The movie is currently being shot in Hyderabad and next schedule of the movie will commence in Bangkok. Tamanna and Deesksha Seth are acting as the female lead and Thaman composing the music for this film. J Bhagwan and J Pulla Rao are producing this movie under the Sri Balaji Cine Media banner.

Rebel team to shoot in Bangkok

Prabhas-starrer Rebel, being directed by Raghava Lawrence, will be shot in Bangkok for good effects in action sequences. Tollywood's affair with Bangkok began many years and star directors like Puri Jagannadh frequenting the place to shoot songs and fights.

In the same line, Lawrence also is banking on the snazzy charm of the place to get the right visual effect. His film is action-significant, if not action-packed. Prabhas' tall frame requires a lavish backdrop and the fights will look all the more scintillating if the buildings happen to be high rise ones.

Since it is not the first time Bangkok will be shown on the Telugu screen, it will be challenging for Lawrence and his choreographer to show the same country in a new light.

Meanwhile, the producers are planning to release the first look of Rebel on Prabhas' birthday (Oct. 23).

Prabhas film with Koratala Siva announced

Prabhas’s new film with noted dialogue writer Koratala Siva has been announced.and the movie will go into production from the third week of October. The movie is being produced on UV creations banner and Vamsi Krishna Reddy is jointly producing this film along with Pramod Uppalapati.

Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music for this film and two top heroines have been roped in to play female leads opposite Prabhas.The movie will be a commercial entertainer with an action backdrop.

More details will be announced in the coming days. Koratala Siva will be making his debut as a director with this movie. He has worked as a dialogue writer for top movies like Brindavanam, Munna, Bhadra and Oosaravelli. Prabhas is currently working with Lawrence for ‘Rebel’.

It was on this day in September 2005, blockbuster movie of Prabhas, 'Chatrapathi' in the direction of S.S.Rajamouli was released. It's six years since the movie was released, but i'm sure this movie is still creating fans all around the world for Prabhas (me for instance in 2007). Undoubtedly, this movie was a milestone in the career of Prabhas and created a whole new image for him, and of course millions of fans. The awesome characterisation of Prabhas and the jaw dropping action scenes, executed extraordinarily by Prabhas were the main highlights of the film. I still get goosebumps while watching the scenes starting with the fight scene with Katraj upto the interval climax scene when he is hailed 'Chatrapathi'. If i am fan of Prabhas today, i owe it almost entirely to this movie.

Idlebrain on Prabhas's Performance in the movie:
Prabhas arrives with Chatrapati as a force to reckon with in Telugu film industry. He is extraordinary in action sequences. There is a unique style and macho charm in his screen presence. He is extremely good in emotional scenes (involving his mother). His dancing abilities have improved tremendously compared to his earlier films. Prabhas did 100% justice to the title role of the film.

S.S.Rajamouli on Prabhas's Performance in the movie:
Prabhas has looks and body language that has mass/action image written allover it. I wonder why he has not done any out-and-out mass film so far. All the films he has done so far are love subjects. Chatrapati is his first mass film. But, his histrionics are great. He is a thinking actor. He would ask me about the scene before and scene that follows for every scene in order to assess what exactly he needs to enact. That unique quality itself would take him to a very high level.

Chatrapathi completed 100 Days in 54 Centres. It's still the favourite movie of Prabhas. In an interview in 2008, asked about his favourite movie, Prabhas has said "Certainly, it is CHATRAPATHI. I could find perfect outlet to my characterization. There was superb ease. As a character, it amassed the wealth of admiration from the audiences. That is one film, which keeps me alive in the industry, irrespective of flops or non-performers."
