12 things you need to know about 'Baahubali' star Prabhas

Here are 12 lesser-known facts about the actor:-



1. Prabhas was born to director U Suryanarayana Raju and he is the nephew of Telugu actor Uppalapati Krishnam Raju.

2. Prabhas is engaged to be married in December. His fiancée, is a 22-year-old engineering student, has been selected by his parents and she has nothing to with films!


3. Prabhas' biggest hit, Baahubali was made on a budget of over Rs 250 crore. Nearly 10% of the total budget was for the actor who was signed for a whopping Rs 24 crore. The actor reportedly spent Rs 1.5 crore on gym equipment to tone his body for the role.


      

4. While working on Baahubali, the actor did not sign any other movie for a period of over three years.

5. He has worked with director SS Rajamouli earlier. In 2005, Prabhas played the role of Chatrapati in the movie of the same name. Said to be based on the Hollywood flick Scarface, the movie ran for 100 days in theatres.

6. In his 14-year career, Prabhas has done just 19 films. The actor does about one film a year and is choosy with his script.

7. Prabhas likes movies by Rajkumar Hirani but did not enjoy PK. "I love Rajkumar Hirani's films. I saw PK and I didn't like it much... But I loved his previous three films. I have seen Munnabhai MBBS and 3 Idiots around 20 times," the actor told PTI. Prabhas is also a fan of Shah Rukh and Salman Khan.

8. Prabhas is a qualified engineer. He never aspired to become an actor and wanted to be a businessman.

9. Prabhas did a cameo appearance in the Prabhu Dheva directed Bollywood film, Action Jackson. This is his first and only Hindi film so far.

10. The actor is a fan of Hollywood star Robert De Niro.

11. Prabhas described himself as "mad and aggressive" before he joined the film industry and said that he has since calmed down.

12. He doesn’t think he’s a national star – yet! Despite the fact that Baahubali has made more Rs 600 crore worldwide and was released in several languages, the actor still doesn’t think he’s a national star. But the buzz is that he’s learning Hindi and might make a full-fledged debut in Bollywood soon.
