Sony aquires Baahubali 2 Hindi Satellite Rights for Record Sum


SS Rajamouli’s upcoming movie Baahubali: The Conclusion (Baahubali 2) has already started making headlines. Satellite rights for Hindi version of Baahubali 2 have been sold to Sony Entertainment Television at a record price. 

The makers of Baahubali 2, have sold the satellite rights of its Hindi version to Sony TV at a whopping price of Rs 51 crore plus tax. This is also the highest price for the TV rights of any Indian regional movie and is also one of the highest prices paid for original Hindi films. 

Directed by SS Rajamouli, there is a huge frenzy around Baahubali: The Conclusion. Earlier, the satellite rights of Baahubali: The Beginning (languages combined) was sold at Rs 45 crore to Star India. The TRP rating of the movie was reportedly at par with Salman Khan’s blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan. 

Starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati among others, Baahubali: The Beginning was a huge success and now fans are eagerly waiting to know the million dollar question – Why Kattappa killed Baahubali? 

Baahubali 2 is slated for release on April 28, 2017.
