Baahubali 2: The Conclusion Sets New Consumer Benchmarks

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has been in the news ever since the first instalment released in 2015. But after the trailer of the second part was launched on March 15, the euphoria has crossed all previous benchmarks.

One week after the trailer launch, the Appeal (Intention to Watch the film in a theatre) clocked an all-time record of 88% (Source: Ormax Cinematix). The number is higher than all films released since 2010. The top 5 list has two Aamir Khan and two Salman Khan starrers. But Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has marched ahead of them to the top spot, as can be seen in the graphic below.

A dubbed film challenging the Khans would have been unthinkable two years ago. But today, Baahubali 2 has a genuine shot at becoming the first ‘Hindi’ film to cross the Rs. 40 crore nett mark at the domestic box office. April 28 will tell us if that happens.
