Prabhas' Saaho Completes One Year

Rebel star Prabhas' Saaho completed one year of its release. Director Sujeeth’s 2019 Saaho starring Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Neil Nithin Makes, Jackie Shroff and others, clocked one year today. The film failed to live up to the audience's expectations. But, it ended up as the biggest blockbuster hit of 2019. On this special occasion, Prabhas shared his latest picture via Instagram and thanked his fans for continuous support, love towards him.

Saaho was made on a budget of Rs 350 Cr. Earlier, the makers didn’t have had a plan of making 'Saaho’ with a lavish budget but things changed after the success of Prabhas’ Baahubali. Saaho was shot using sophisticated cameras of recent times.

On the professional front, Prabhas will next be seen in ‘Radhe Shyam’. He is all set to participate in the Radhe Shyam shoot in the second week of September.  He has signed his next project with Nag Ashwini where he will be sharing screen space with Deepika Padukone.  On the other hand, Prabhas will be making Bollywood debut with Adipurush which will be directed by Om Raut and the film is going to be released in multiple languages. Prabhas News from the Archives - Part 8

In this post we will see news about Prabhas during the year 2007. Munna was getting ready for a release and news about Bujjigadu started coming in. It was interesting to see that the rumour of Prabhas doing a film with director Sukumar had come in 2007 itself. A couple of other interesting things to know was that the title first rumoured for Bujjigadu was 'Shadow' and that Kingfisher had done corporate branding for Munna.

8th January 2007

Yogi for Bhogi
Yogi is all set to release on Bhogi day 14th Januay (as per Telugu calendar, Bhogi falls on 14 January this year). Prabhas and Nayana Tara are doing main leads in this Telugu remake of Kannada blockbuster Jogi. Sarada plays mother in this mother sentiment mass film. Mumaith Khan did an item song. Ramana Gogula composed music. Sameer Reddy handled cinematography. VV Vinayak directed this film.

11th January 2007

Yogi obtains U/A
Prabhas’s Yogi got censored today and obtained U/A certificate. Prints are already dispatched and will be arriving by 12th in most of the centers. Yogi is releasing worldwide on 14 January on the eve of Bhogi festival. Incidentally VV Vinayak’s last blockbuster Lakshmi was also released on the same day.

Ramana Gogula cameo on Yogi
Ramana Gogula is not only singer and music director, he is also a great stage performer. Interesting he did not appear in any of Telugu films he has done so far. Ramna Gogula will be giving guest appearance in ‘Orori Yogi’ item song that is picturized on Prabhas and Mumaith Khan.

Munna on 5 April
Dil Raju’s latest film Munna with Prabhas as hero in the direction of debutant Vamsi Paidipally is all set to release on 5th of April. Audio scored by Harris Jayaraj will be launched on 15th of March. Peter Hynes choreographed action sequences for this film. Ileana is playing female lead. Prabhas plays university student in this youth action film.

Sukumar to direct Prabhas?
Prabhas gave a commitment to Bhogavally Prasad during the time of Chatrapati that he would do another film for him. Sukumar took a token advance from Prasad long back. As per the latest buzz floating around in film nagar, Prabhas is going to act in Sukumar direction very soon. With Munna work being done, Prabhas is free now. His next commitment with KS Rama Rao in the direction of Puri Jagan will only start after Puri Jagan completes the shooting of his film with Ram Charan Teja’s film is over. There is a chance that Sukumar’s film might take off very soon.

Munna on 19 April

Prabhas’s Munna is all set to hit the marquee on 19th of April. Music scored by Harris Jayaraj got good response in the market. Ileana is doing female lead. Dil Raju who produces only hit films so far is producing this film. Munna is going to be the first major release for the summer of 2007 followed by Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule and Sivaji.

Munna postponed to 2 May

The release of Prabhas’s latest film Munna is postponed to 2 May from 27 April. Ileana is doing female lead. Harris Jayaraj composes music. The expectations are high on this film because it is coming from the producer who delivered continuous blockbusters like Dil, Arya, Bhadra, Bommarillu etc. Vamsi is making his debut as director.

Kingfisher sponsors Munna
Corporate branding has been very helpful to the Telugu film producers as the money doled out by these sponsors will help intensifying the publicity. Kingfisher is sponsoring the vinyl hoardings of Prabhas’s forthcoming film Munna. Munna is slated for worldwide release in the first week of May. Ileana plays female lead and Dil Raju produces this film. Vamsi Paidipally makes his debut as director.

3 film releases this week
This week is witnessing 3 releases. On 2nd, Dil Raju - Prabhas’s film Munna will be hitting the screen with highest number of prints. In Hyderabad alone this film is releasing in 34 theaters. Srihari’s Malayalam remake ‘Sri Mahalakshmi’ will release on 4 May. Spiderman - 3 will be releasing on 4th of this month in three languages (English, Hindi and Telugu) in AP.

Trisha paired up with Prabhas
Trisha is signed for Prabhas’s next film in the direction of Puri Jagan. This film will be produced by KS Rama Rao on Creative Commercials banner. Trisha acted with Prabhas in Varsham and Pournami in the past. KS Rama Rao has registered the title ‘Shadow’ recently. We have to wait and see if that title is meant for this film or not. This film will go to floors in the month of July.

Prabhas film release on 4 Jan
The tentative release date for Prabhas’s next film in the direction of Puri Jagan is fixed at 4 January 2008. This film will be produced by KS Rama Rao. Puri Jagan will complete the shooting part of his current film Chiruta by next month and this film is expected to go floors in August. Media speculated that Shadow is the title of this film as Creative Commercial registered this title recently. But producer KS Rama Rao denied that Shadow is not the title of the film and that title was registered by him on behalf of somebody else.

Prabhas as Viswamitra
Prabhas has donned the role of Viswamitra in NTR - Rajamouli’s film Yamadonga. Mohan Babu plays lord Yama. Archana, Preeti Jingania and Navaneet Kaur are playing the roles of celestial beauties. Rambha does a pub item song in this film. MM Keeravani’s music is already popular. This film will hit the marquee on 15 August.

Prabhas as Bujjigadu
After penning Chanti gadu character for Ravi Teja for Idiot film, Puri Jagan is all set to direct an action love story film titled ‘Bujji Gadu’ (Made in Chennai) will Prabhas as hero. This film sports Trisha as heroine. KS Rama Rao produces this film on Creative Commercials banner. Devi Sri Prasad composes music. The muhurat will be held on 23 August. Regular shooting will take place from September.

Bujjigadu shoot started
Shooting of Prabhas’s latest film ‘Bujjigadu Made In Chennai’ started on 23rd of this month. Puri Jagan is directing this film. Prabhas is going to act in Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster Sivakasi. Ileana would be paired against Prabhas in this film. AM Ratnam who produced the Tamil version is going to produce this film. Amma Rajasekhar (of Ranam fame) will direct his venture.

Prabhas’s film started
The regular shooting of Prabhas’s latest film in the direction of VV Vinayak started on 1st of this month. This film is the Telugu remake of Kannada blockbuster Jogi. Kadapa Mayor P Ravindranath Reddy is producing this film on Eeswari Films banner. A few fights in the choreography of Stun Siva were canned on Prabhas, Pradeep Rawat and Subbaraju. Ramana Gogula provides music and Sameer Reddy handles camera. Nayana Tara is doing female lead.

Now he is coming again for the next Sankranthi with Prabhas film.

The unit of Yogi will be traveling to Canada on 2nd of October to shoot a couple of songs on Prabhas and Nayana Tara. This film is coming up with the caption ‘A feel that never ends. VV Vinayak directs this film. Ramana Gogula who provided chartbuster music for the blockbuster Lakshmi is scoring music for this film. This is first Prabhas film for which Ramana Gogula scores music. Eeswari films is producing this film. Yogi is all set to release on 10th January 2007.

KS Rama Rao will be producing Prabhas’s next film in the direction of Puri Jagan on his Creative Commercials banner. Chatrapati 100 days function on 14th Feb
100 days function of Prabhas’s latest blockbuster Chatrapati will be held on 14th of this month at Lalitha Kala Thoranam at 5 pm. Chatrapati ran for 100 days in 54 centers. 100 days function of Prabhas’s Varsham was also held at the same venue in the past.

Ileana is doing the female lead in Prabahs’s next film Munna. This film will be produced by Dil Raju on Sri Venkateswara banner. Vamsi who worked for films like Varsham, Bhadra and Mass is being introduced as director. Shooting of this film will be commenced on 25th of March 2006.

Shooting of Prabhas’s latest film Pournami is complete but for two songs. The remaining songs will be shot from 1st March. Introduction song of Prabhas will be shot in Araku valley and another song will be canned on Prabhas and Charmme in sets. Climax of this film was recently shot in Shamshabad. Trisha and Charmme are playing female leads. Producer MS Raju is planning to release the audio on 10th March and the film on 20th April 2006. Prabhudeva directs this film.

Ramana Gogula’s music to Prabhas
Ramana Gogula who provided chartbuster music for the Sankranthi blockbuster Lakshmi is going to score again for VV Vinayak for his next film with Prabhas as hero. This film is going to be produced by P Ravindranath Reddy (Kadapa Mayor) on Eeswari Films banner. This film will go to floors on 7th April 2006.

Audio of Pournami - MS Raju’s latest offing with Prabhas as hero in the direction of Prabhudeva - will be released precisely at 10:31 am on 22nd of this month. Devi Sri Prasad is expected to start his second inning with this film. There has been considerable gap for Devi Sri Prasad in Telugu now. Maruthi Music is releasing the audio.

Prabhas prefers original stunts
For the climax of Pournami, producer MS Raju hired few fighters from Thailand who are supposed to act as duplicates to Prabhas in risky stunt sequences. But Prabhas preferred to do it on his own by not allowing duplicates take over him. Peter Heins composed stunts for Pournami. This information was revealed by Rahul Dev in a press conference today.

A real life incident inspired the story of MS Raju's latest film Pornami. MS Raju is giving story and screenplay for this film. Prabhas, Trisha, Charmy, Sindhu Tolani and Madhu Sharma are playing mail leads. Prabhu Deva is directing this violent love story. 'On fire' would be the tagline of Pournami film. Devi Sri Prasad composed music. This film would go to floors in this month and would be released for Sankranthi 2006.

Mumaith Khan, who shot to fame with her item song 'Dekh Le' in Munnabhai MBBS, has performed for an item song in SS Rajamouli's film Chatrapati. Prabhas and Shriya play main leads in this film. Smita - who did excellent work with Sye song and 'Evaraina' (AOR) in recent times - has sung this item song. This film would be released in the month of September.

'Weekend film distributors' - who distributed Anukokunda Oka Roju in the past - is going to distribute Prabhas's latest film Chatrapati in the direction of SS Raja Mouli in USA. This film would be releasing on 28th September in AP and on 30th September in USA. The interested exhibitors can directly get in touch with Cherry (like they did for AOR film) on 98480 45515 (India) to screen Chatrapati. Chatrapati is expected to release in USA with 5-6 prints. Chatrapati audio CD on 22nd Sep
Chatrapati's audio cassette was directed launched into market on 14th of this month. It is customary to have a gap of around 10 days between the launch of cassettes and CDs. Chatrapati audio CD would be releasing at function arranged on 22nd of September. The audio of Chatrapati has got already popular and is selling like hotcakes.

Prabhas's Chatrapati is all set to release with 220 prints on 30th of this month all over the world. Incidentally, this is the biggest release in the career of Prabhas. Shriya is paired up with Prabhas in this film. Arti Agarwal (Summamma Suriya) and Mumaith Khan (Mannela Thintivira Krishna) did item songs. SS Rajamouli who delivered three consecutive hits in terms of Student No.1, Simhadri and Sye directed this film. Bhogavally Prasad produces this film. Chatrapati is going for censoring on Monday.

Chiranjeevi had a special preview of Chatrapati film on the night of Friday (8th October) at 7:30 pm. Chiranjeevi watched the film along with his family members. Prabhas as Badrinath
Chinni Krishna who provided storyline for the blockbusters like Narasimha Naidu, Indra and Gangotri in the past would be directing a film with Prabhas as hero. This film is titled as Badrinath. Gopikrishna Films - the home banner of Krishnam Raju - is reentering film production after a gap of 19 years. Prabhas's elder brother Prabodh would act as producer. It might be learnt that Suryanarayana Raju (brother of Krishnam Raju) acted as producer for Gopikrishna banner when Krishnamraju was active as hero. Now it is the turn of new generation (Prabhash & Prabodh) to carry forward the banner. This announcement was made today (20th January) on the eve of birthday of Krishnam Raju. This film would go to floors on 11th May 2005. More details awaited.

Audio of Krishna Vamsi's latest film 'Chakram' starring Prabhas is going to be released in the 1st week of February 2005. Chakri scored music. Aditya music bought the audio rights. Rajamouli slashes remuneration
In a healthy and generous gesture, Raja Mouli - the hotshot director who delivered three continuous blockbusters Student No.1, Simhadri and Sye - has slashed his remuneration for his latest film Chatrapati starring Prabhas. It is reliably learnt that Prabhas also slashed his remuneration for this film. By doing so, this director-hero duo made sure that budget stays in stipulated limits. It may be noted that Rajamouli has charged a very nominal remuneration for Sye film as well. Let us hope that few of our budget-fetish directors take a cue from Rajamouli and bring smiles to producers.

Krishna Vamsi - Prabhas combination film Chakram is hitting marquee on 25th of March 2005. Audio of this film was released on 18th of February and got good appreciation. Chakri scored music. Krishnam Raju recollected the days when his film Jeevana Tarangalu used to have special ladies shows. The same phenomenon is repeating for Prabhas's Chakram. The exhibitor of Chakram is arranging a special show exclusive for ladies on 30th of March in Guntur and the tickets are already sold out.

It is learnt that Prabhas would star in Surendar's (Athanokkade fame) next venture. This film would be produced by KLN Raju. It would take around 4 months for the script to finalize. Meanwhile, Prabhas would be busy acting in Chatrapati and Pournami.

Pournami coincides with Sankranthi
MS Raju's next film Pournami with Prabhas as hero would be starting in July and is expected to release on 14th January 2006 on the eve of Sankranthi. Incidentally January 14th January 2006 is Pournami as per Indian Tidhis. Actually we have Pournami titled film releasing on Pournami day which also happens to be Sankranthi. MS Raju scored 3 consecutive blockbusters for the last three Sankranthis. Trisha is the heroine and Devi Sri Prasad would score the music.

Prabhas's blockbuster Varsham would celebrate its run of 175 days on 5th September at a function arranged in Hyderabad. This function would be held in big scale and would be attended by lots of film celebrities along with the fans of Prabhas.

Actress Sada would be playing one of the heroine roles in Krishna Vamsi's film 'Chakram' with Prabhas as hero. Charmy is also playing one heroine. Shooting of this film is going on at a brisk pace. Chiranjeevi would be gracing as the chief guest to Prabhas's blockbuster 'Varsham'. Producer MS Raju is going to organize this function on the evening of 1st of November 2004 at Lalithakalatoram. Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu are going to be special guest of the evening. Dasari Narayana Rao and UV Krishna Raju would also grace this function along with cast and crewmembers of Varsham film.

Prabhas's Pournami
MS Raju - who gave a big break to the career of Prabhas with Varsham - has announced another film with Prabhas as hero. This film is titled as 'Pournami'. Story of the film is ready. An official announcement of the same is expected on 1st November 2004.

MM Keeravani who is expected to score music for Krishna Vamsi's latest film Chakram is not doing it anymore. Music director Chakri is roped in to do the job. This film stars Prabhas and Charmy in the main leads. There would be six songs in Chakram and three songs were already composed by Chakri. Siva Raju and Venkat Raju are jointly producing this film on Geeta Chitra International banner.

MS Raju - Prabhas's Sankranthi blockbuster Varsham is selected in mainstream section of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which would be held at Goa. Producer MS Raju's earlier film Okkadu swept away awards in all film festivals including Nandi and Filmfare. His next film 'Nuvvostanante Ne Vaddantana' would be released for January 2004.

According to MS Raju - producer of Varsham film - Varsham audio created sensation in audio market by selling 6.25 lakhs of cassettes so far. To celebrate this occasion, MS Raju is planning a huge public function at Tirupati on 31st of this month. In a pressmeet held yesterday, MS Raju and other unit members of Varsham shared their happiness with press over the success of Varsham film.

Ramya Krishna item song for Prabhas
Ramya Krishna - who sizzled with 'Cheekulamme' special song in Simhadri - is going to do an item song for a Prabhas film. Chanti Addala is producing this film on 'Friendly Movies' banner. The probable title of the film is 'Ramaraju from Buttayapalem'. Arti Agarwal is paired up with Prabhas. This film has recently completed its schedule at Talakona forest and its currently shooting in Rajahmundry town.

Adavi Ramudu on 29 April
The most popular mass song of 1980's 'Aresukoboyi Paresukunnanu' is being reused for Prabhas's latest film 'Adavi Ramudu' (Eka Love You di katha). This song is being canned from yesterday at Annapurna studios on Prabhas and Arti Agarwal in the dance direction of Raja Sekhar. Same lyrics of original are being used. Niece of Suseela sang this song along with SP Balu. A special song would be pictured on Prabhas and Ramya Krishna from 1st April onwards. This film is going to sport 4-5 minutes of graphics work. Producer Chanti Addala is planning to release audio by 10th April. This movie is tentatively slated for 29th April 2004 release. B Gopal directs this film on Friendly Movies banner. Mani Sharma provides music.

Varsham 50 days function at Bheemavaram
Sankranthi blockbuster Varsham is going to celebrate it's 50 days run at a function organized at Bheemavaram on 7th March 2004 at DNR college grounds at 5 pm. UV Krishnam Raju is invited as chief guest. The cast of the film Prabhas, Trisha, Prakash Raj and Gopichand are going to attend this function along with the crewmembers. Devi Sri Prasad is going to entertain crowds with his electrifying musical night.

Varsham sentiment for Prabhas
After the audio release of Adavi Ramudu on 22nd April, it rained heavily in Hyderabad. Incidentally it was also 100th day for Prabhas's Varsham. This film Varsham is having rain sentiment. It rained on the day of Muhurat. It also rained on the day of starting of the shoot. Now it rained again on 100th day. Speaking to the press, Prabhas said that Varsham is the most satisfying film for him.

Regular shooting of this film would start from 22nd of this month. Prabhas's character is said to have lots of different shades in this film. For the first time, Krishna Vamsi is going to use the services of Keeravani as music director. Satyanand is providing story.

Adavi Ramudu on 21st May
The release of Prabhas's latest film 'Adavi Ramudu is pushed to 21st of May from 14th May. The delay in post production activities seems to have caused this delay. B Gopal directs this film. Arti Agarwal plays the female lead. Mani Sharma scored the music. Chanti Addala produces this film on 'Friendly Creations' banner. Incidentally Mani Rathnam's Yuva is also releasing on 21st May.

Charmy in Chakram?
Krishna Vamsi is considering 'Sri Anjaneyam' heroine Charmy for his forth coming film 'Chakram' with Prabhas as hero. The heroine's name would be finalized in a couple of days. Siva Raju and Venkatraju - producers of Venkatesh's Gharshana - would be producing this film. MM Keeravani provides music. First schedule of this film would start on 1st July.

MS Raju 'Varsham'
MS Raju registered a title 'Varsham' the film chamber. This film has a caption 'Rain stops.. But love never stops'. MS Raju himself prepares Varsham story. Some of the portion of the film would be shot in New York, USA. A set worth two crores is getting erected in green farms of Godari District. The estimated budget for this film is 10 crores. Varsham might hit floors in January 2003 (after Mahesh Babu Okkadu release). The other cast and crew is yet to be decided.

Odd time and odd day for Eeswar
The lanky producer-actor K Ashok Kumar is a strict religious follower. His sternness in sticking to auspicious time is such that he does not mind even releasing in on an add day of Monday and odd time of 2:30 pm. A per the strict instructions given by the producer, the film should open in the theaters on 11th of November at 2:30 pm. Strange - is not it? Made in 45 workings days, this film Eeswar introduces Prabhas (cine heir of Krishnam Raju) and Sridevi (third daughter of oldtime actress Manjula). Eeswar celebrates 100 days at Guntur
Prabhas's debut film 'Eeswar' has celebrated 100 days function amongst fanfare at Central public school grounds, Mallareddy Nagar, Guntur today (20th February 2003). Dasari Narayana Rao, Krishnam Raju and Anshu graced this occasion as guests of honor. The crowd attended for this function includes 5000 to 6000 people in a relatively small ground. The function started at 7:45 pm and ended at 9:15 pm. Speaking on this occasion Krishnam Raju mentioned that he had a special bonding with the Guntur people as his Bhakta Kannappa ran for 25 weeks in Guntur. Heroine (junior) Sridevi attended the function and went back to Chennai after taking the shield due to immediate commitment.

Simran in Prabhas 'Raghavendra'
Simran has given a nod to do a special song for a Prabhas film in production 'Ragahvendra'. This song would be shot on Simran and Prabhas from 16th March onwards. The audio of this film was recently released on 14th of this month. Anshu and Swetha Agarwal are playing heroines. This film is all set for the release on 28th of this month.

MS Raju's next film 'Varsham' starring Prabhas, Trisha, Gopichand and Prakash Raj is going to release on 15th January 2004 as Sankranthi gift. Incidentally MS Raju's latest blockbuster Okkadu was also released on 15th January this year. Regular shooting of this film would start on 30th June 2003. The music sittings and script work are currently going on in Pragati resorts that are situated 40 km away from Hyderabad. Sirivennela is writing lyrics and Paruchuri brothers are penning dialogues. Digital background colors for Varsham
Sekhar V Joseph has experimented with the digital background colors for a couple of scenes that lasts for a couple of minutes in Okkadu film. Now, MS Raju is planning to use the same technology for his forthcoming film 'Varsham' with Prabhas and Trisha in the main leads. This film would be having 30 minutes duration of digital background colors. The 'rain' plays an important role in the story of this film. Popular villains Prakash Raj, Gopi Chand and Shafi (Khadgam fame) are playing important roles in this film. Regular shooting of this film was started on 27th of June. This film is expected to be releasedon 15th January 2003.

Prabhas in Gowtam's direction
Young actor Prabhas is going to act in a Telugu film to be directed by Gowtam - who directed blockbuster Kakha Kakha in Tamil. Tatineni Ajay Kumar (son of Tatineni Rama Rao) and D Raj Varma (son of D Pratap Raju) are going to jointly produce this flick. They earlier directed films like Dil and Youth in Tamil. They are currently producing a film each with the heroes Vikram and Sreeram.

Shooting of the film is completed except for picturization of 3 songs. Dubbing and post-production work is in progress. Devi Sri Prasad is giving music to Varsham. Prakash Raj and Gopichand are also playing vital roles. Trisha is paired up with Prabhas. Sobhan (of Bobby fame) directs this film that revolves around the concept of rain. This film is releasing with 150 prints in 200 theaters.
