After the success of Darling, it seems lady luck is finally smiling on Prabhas. The hit comes in the wake of a series of flops and no one is happier than the “young rebel star”.
Having signed two more films, Prabhas is quick to defend the accusation that his earlier movies had become “clichéd”. “I have had six hits in my 14-movie career. If they didn’t do well in the last few years it could be because I chose wrong subjects or the filmmaker did not treat the movie right. But I am glad this movie worked,” he admits.
The two new films he has signed will be directed by Rajamouli and Dasarath and he stoutly refuses to admit that young actors like him work only with established directors because they lack confidence. “We sign movies with established directors because we are confident they will bring out a better product. I did work with new directors but those didn’t do well. But I am all for acting in a movie directed by a fresher because they have new ideas,” he says.
Prabhas is also wary of being typecast in his macho “mass” image. His fans don’t want him to die in films. To avoid this macho hero-who-can’t-die trap, he has to do rom-coms. “I don’t like being typecast, so I am working in films that have a balance of both fights and family entertainment,” he says.
The young actor who claims to be good friends with Allu Arjun, Puri Jagannath and Gopichand says he does not let competition hamper his relationship with friends. “There is severe competition among us. But once we are out of the sets, we don’t see each other as competitors. If we do so, we won’t have friends.”
Ignoring the fashion critics’ remarks about his recession-hit looks he says that fans should accept him as he is. “They should accept me the way I look. I dress well if I am in a good mood but often I am lazy and end up going out in whatever I feel like. In films, I am there to entertain, but off-screen, I want to be myself,” he concludes.

Prabhas and Kajal to pair again

‘Darling’ pair - Prabhas and Kajal Agarwal are going to pair once again. Dil Raju is producing a film with Prabhas in the direction of Dasarath. Kajal Agarwal has been confirmed for lead female role. The film also has another heroine who is yet to be finalized. Film launch is expected soon.

Prabhas’s latest release ‘Darling’ has struck a chord with the Telugu-American audience.Everyone from the audience was happy to see Prabhas’ performance and Karunakaran’s direction. The audience highlighted that comedy was the integral part of the movie.
Prabhas’ following with the ladies seems to be increasing every day and most others thought heroine Kajal Aggarwal looked pretty in the movie. A word of appreciation was also given to the picturing of songs in Switzerland and also to the costumes of Prabhas.
‘Darling’ releasing with 335 prints

Prabhas, Kajal starrer ‘Darling’ is set to hit the screens on April 23. Karunakaran has directed the film and Bhogavalli Prasad has produced the film on ‘Sri Venkateshwara Cine Chitra’ banner. Shraddha Das is also playing an important role in the film. The latest news is that the film is going to release with a whopping 335 prints. Out of this, 235 are celluloid prints and the remaining 100 are digital prints. This is the highest ever release for Prabhas in his career so far. Sources say that, the producer has planned to cash on the pre-release buzz on the film. With IPL coming to an end this weekend and more big releases like Simha, Rama Rama Krishna Krishna lined up for release in the next two weeks, ‘Darling’ has very little time to create the maximum impact. The censor board has given it a clean ‘U’ certificate. With everything falling in place before the release for ‘Darling’, the film has got a tremendous pre-release hype. This is the reason for such a big release. GV Prakash has composed the music for the film. Andrew is the cinematographer. The film is being touted as a visual treat and it has been extensively shot in Switzerland, Araku and other areas.

The latest news is that the film has bagged commercial sponsorship worth Rs.65 lakhs from various sources. This commercial sponsorship will be in the film of television ads, hoardings from huge conglomerates like ‘RS Brothers’ and TV9. News is that this is the first time that such a huge amount has been offered for advertising a film.
