SS Rajamouli-directorial Baahubali 2 is set to create history on Saturday by reaching Rs 1,000 crore mark at the box office.
May 6 will be registered as a red-letter day in the history of Indian cinema as Baahubali 2 is set to reach an unimaginable feat.
SS Rajamouli's film is set to become the first movie in the country to breach Rs 1,000 crore mark. Yes, the aforementioned box office figure, which was believed to be an exaggerated number before the release, is set to become reality on Saturday.
The glorious journey of Baahubali 2 started on April 28 with the film hitting the screens in four versions – Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. The movie has beaten every major record in all the languages and has now become the biggest box office hit of all-time in India.
In fact, the film has shattered the lifetime records of biggies like PK and Dangal in a matter of a week, which tells the unprecedented buzz around the film.
On the opening day, Baahubali 2 minted over Rs 210 crore with a distributors' share of Rs 122 crore. In India alone, the movie did a business of Rs 125 crore from four versions. What followed next was predicted as the movie had opened to positive reviews across the nation.
The Prabhas-starrer ended its first weekend at massive Rs 509 crore in three days, as per Andhra Box Office.
The first Monday could not have been better due to a holiday on International Workers' Day as the audience thronged to theatres to enjoy SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2.
The collections remained stable on the next few days to do a business of over Rs 870 crore. On its eighth day on Friday, the movie collected over Rs 60 crore and requires approximately Rs 70 crore on Saturday to rewrite box office history by becoming the first movie to mint over Rs 1,000 crore.
