Baahubali 2 beats Aamir Khan’s P.K, becomes the highest worldwide grosser for an Indian film by collecting close to 900 crores
Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that released last week to a thunderous response from the audience the world over has been raking in the moolah both in the domestic and international markets.
The film which has been one of the most anxiously anticipated sequels ever, has witnessed a growth in business since its release even on weekdays.
After setting new opening day and opening weekend business benchmarks, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion has now managed to surpass the previously released Aamir Khan starrer PK to become the highest worldwide grossing Indian film ever.
In fact Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion has managed to gross approx. Rs. 887 cr at the worldwide market with Rs. 335 cr coming in from the Hindi version in the domestic market, approx. Rs. 387 cr from the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions in India and approx. Rs. 165 cr from the overseas territories.
With this massive collection, Baahubali 2 has firmly claimed the top slot as the highest worldwide grossing Indian film surpassing the Aamir Khan starrer PK that had collected Rs. 769 cr, Dangal that collected Rs. 716 cr and also the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan that had collected Rs. 629 cr.
But if breaking the previous record and establishing a new one wasn’t enough, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion continues to run in both the domestic and overseas markets is expected to raise the bar even higher in the coming weeks.
In fact going by the current rate of business the film is likely to be the first ever Indian film to gross over Rs. 1000 cr worldwide.
